It has been a while...

I have been a little overwhelmed with summer starting and having the kids home from school, that I haven't blogged in a while.  So, here is a little bit of what we have been up to.

We have been having lots of get togethers with the girl's friends. 

 

We FINALLY installed sod in our back yard!!!

It is so beautiful and a dream come true!!!!

After laying sod all day, Senja and I hopped in the car and drove to California. I guess I was so excited about the yard I stayed pretty wired up for the drive. 

We stopped and picked up my brother Greg at Fort Irwin near Bartsow. After showing all kinds of ID, including my car registration and insurance they let me on the Base. Greg gave us whole tour and it was really interesting. We even got to have lunch at the commissary.

I really learned a lot about what his daily life is like in the Army and I have a whole new appreciation for him and all those who serve our country.

 

We then headed down to a great campground where we met up with my Mom and Greg's kids Jake and Eden.

My Mom brought this really cool Coleman oven that you put right over hot coals. You can bake anything in it!  So cool!!!!

It doesn't get any better than eating fresh baked cookies while camping! A couple nights later we made brownies. I totally have to get one of these!  

We spent a few days on the beach and soaked up some much needed rays.

On our way home we decided last minute to make a quick stop in Hollywood. Senja had never been and we had fun at the Chinese Mann Theater, reading the stars names on the sidewalk, and indulging on some delicious sushi.

I got to meet Debra Skelton from MadTV. 

After a long drive we finally made it back to our home sweet home. I am so excited to enjoy my nice back yard and the rest of my summer.
